- In DUNBEACON in the land of William Sweetman is a field called "The fort field". This derives its name from an old fort on it. This fort is situated on a high knob of earth, and its entrance is covered by a huge flag on top. This fort is believed to have been built by Tuatha De Danann It afterwards served as a hiding place for the Irish Republicans.

In LIBEEN in the land of Downey is another field called "The fort field" also containing a fort. This fort is also under a high knob of earth and the hole which marks the entrance is now open. Many persons have explored this fort. One man Nugent of Libeen said that he never reached the end of the fort, but after travelling for a long distance underground he came upon a little house which was covered with zinc.
