    Luck
    Luck money is given for every beast bought or sold, it being given by the person who sells the beast. The luck money ranges from sixpence to half-a-crown but the higher the price the more luck-money given.
    The buyer and seller do not strike hands but a ticket is given by the buyer on which his name is written.
    Marks
    Every buyer has his own mark it being different from any other. Some buyers mark with chalk while others cut hair off the animal's bank.
    It is the custom to give away the halter with the animal.
