“A farmer on whose land there was a fort had a nice black cow.”
A farmer on whose land there was a fort had a nice black cow. She was well fed + had the appearance of being a good milker but strange to say she never had more than a pint of milk morning or evening. One morning he went into the field to drive home the cows to be milked. To his surprise he saw a are sucking his black cows. The dogs saw it too + gave chase but the hare scampered off + into the fort. On another day the cow was missing + the owner went in search of her. His search was in vain and suddenly he saw her rush from the fort + follow the others into the famryard. A short time after he decided on selling her but on the morning of the fair he found her lying dead in the stall(continues on next page)- Informant
