   and white bread which they bought in the shops. They had plenty of eggs for Easter Sunday. On Good Friday they had cockles from the strand. About sixty years ago tea came to the district for the first time, and they used to drink it out of small basins instead of cups.

   Got from Mr. James Spillane, Kilkerran (as previously) About twenty-five years ago there was a football team in this parish and another one in Ardfield, which is adjoining ours. They played a football match in Mat. Twohig's field in Gahanive and the Rathbarry team won. There were twenty-one men
