    At Carrig-an-Aifrinn near Berrings mass used be celebrated in Penal times.
    A priest 30 yrs old just arrived from Rome, was saying Mass one Christmas morning and at the moment of Consecration a company of priest hunters came up and murdered him at the altar.
    Tradition says the tolling of a bell used be heard every Christmas morning up to 1916.
