(continued from previous page)him again; he hurried to the house of the sick man, anointed him, and the man died before the priest left the room. The priest was of opinion that it was someone from the other world awakened him the second time.He also told me that:-Two men left the townland of Islandbrack to consult a fortuneteller who was then staying in the townland of Renagoshel a distance of about 3 miles across country.
When leaping off a fence one of the men got his foot into a cow's track full of water which splashed up on his face: he uttered an unparliamentary remark about the fortune-teller.
Whe he asked the fortune-teller later what information she had for him after "crossing her palm" with a florin; the coin with the cross on it; she asked "what remark did you make about me when you jumped off the fence a half an hour ago?"
She told him he would get a farm of land; and he inquired how that would happen; she said there was a tenant in it at present but he would be evicted, before he would get possession of it. Six weeks(continues on next page)
