It is on the right bank of the river Dalua.
It is in the townland of Castle McAuffife, the parish of Newmarket, in the Co of Cork, and in barony of Duhallow, it is about a half a mile from Newmarket the stones of it were taken to build Alworths court, in Newmarket, and more of the stones taken to build Woodview House.
This castle is gone to ruin since the time of Cromwell.
There are many castles and churches gone to ruin, I know two churches, Clonfert, Kilmeen is my burial graveyard.
It is situated on a hill. It is there all my relations are buried, the kinds of trees that are growing in it are yew trees and evergreen trees(continues on next page)
