    Joseph Leahy. His bird like jumping attracted attention he rose higher than all. Without changing his hurling boots he cleared 5ft 8in his own height.
    From that summer evening, young Leahy devoted his attention to high jumping. Though his long string of brothers won scores of prizes the name Paddy Leahy still holds reverence not so much for his superb achievements as in the manner of execution.
