- The following Local happenings occurred in the Parish of Glanworth Co. Cork.Burnings.
The burning of Glanworth Post Office occurred in April about the year nineteen twelve. The Post Master then was Mr. George Green, now deceased. The fire was first noticed about midnight when most of the people in the Parish had gone to bed.
Mr George Green told Mr. Roche his nearest neighbour to tell the people that the house was in fire. The people came and had to draw water from a stream near by and quenched the fire.(continues on next page)- Collector
