    Self-Heal is a common plant in poor or rough pasture. it is used in medicine by Doctors.
    Yellow-Rattle grows on poor soil and is very harmful as it attaches itself by suckers to the roots of the grass and makes it still poorer.
    Foxglove is a herb which grows on light soil. It has many popular names on which means "little Folks" glove or fairies glove. There is a powerful drug especially in its leaves, knows as digitalian used by Doctors in treating serious disease of the heart.
    The Carline Thistle is a plentiful herb in dry ground. It is said that this herb is connected with Charlemange who lost a great number of his men to pestilence until an angel pointed out this herb as a cure for the disease.
    Buck-bean is a common herb in bogs. It is much used
