    houses in the district. Several monks fled except three. They refused to go, because they wanted to mind the valuables and to see after the monastery. Cromwell's soldiers heard of this monastery, and went to take it. They caught the three monks and threw them into the river Blackwater and they were drowned. Every year since there is supposed to be three people drowned in the Blackwater because it was cursed then.
