    Coole Abbey, townland of Coole, parish of Castlelyons, Barony of Barrymore, County Cork.
    Was on Condon property, granted to Peards who built Coole House.
    Remains of two churches with Celtic characteristics.
    One of St. Patrick's teeth is said to have been preserved as a relic at Coole.
    It is said that a number of Lord Barrymore troopers who took shelter in the Abbey were massacred by Richd. Condon 1642. This is also referred to Coole Castle which is on hill above the church; the castle belonged to Condons and had been taken and re-taken during 1641 rebellion.
