    Who should be outside the door but the waiting maid listening to Darra's name (?) in a low voice clapped her ear to the key hole as many a curious servant has done before and sure enough she heard the whole plot against the lives of Darra and his father. So the next day she watched her opportunity and gave Darra the hard (?) what the King intended to do to him and the old man when the job was finished. You may (be)sure he lost no time in telling them of the dirty trick that was going to be placed on them. I suspected so much says Gobán but never mind says he may be will be ever with the old tyrant yet. So by and bye he goes to the King and says your majesty "I'm ashamed to say I left one of my tools behind me without which I cannot close in the arch of your treasure house so that I'll want to go home to bring it with me so that I can finish the job in a mechanical manner.
