- In this locality people old and young have worn shoes for a long time past.
It is related that some of the tramp class work no shoes in early times, and occasionally one may be seen still roving around without them.
It was an old custom for country people to bring their boots and stockings in their hands, when walking to Mass or to the fairs, for economy sake as shoes were then costly and money very scarce
Children do not generally go barefoot in this locality, at any tome of the year.
