There was a giant in Ballytrasna whose name was the Cearnach and he was a wine merchant. He used to hide the money in a cave on top of the hill. When he died he was buried in that cave. Not long after some men went to look for the money They dug away, till they heard a bull roaring, and they ran away down the strand. They have made several attempts since to look for the money there and have not yet got at it.
A man was ploughing in the field next to where the giant was buried. The plough struck something hard. He stopped the horses and dug down to see what it was, and he found a copper pot, and a flat stone on top of it. He took it home and they lifted the the stone, but there was only earth in the pot.
