- There is only one holy well in this parish. It is situated about a hundred yards from Loughill churchyard. It is in a glen in Mr Hanley's farm. It is dedicated to St Colmóg, of whom very little is known. People say, however, that he was a holy hermit who kept a little church here, until the time of the Danish raids. People whose eyes are effected in anyway pay "rounds" at the well. They have no special days for visiting, but the old people say the "rounds" should be made before sunrise or after sunset.
