- There is an old barrack in Glin which is haunted. Some time ago the Seargeant was walking past it one night very late. He saw a very tall woman dressed in black come out the door. She walked in front of him with the same pace as himself. He was very anxious to see who she was and he started to run. The Black lday ran too and disappeared through a wall. The Seargeant followed her and looked over the wall instead of the black lady he saw a big black dog who glared up at him. The Seargeant fainted and was found some time after by men who were returning from fishing. He was ill for a long time, and would never again go near the old barrack. The black lady is still to be seen and also many other forms who appear as black dogs in the day time.
