One day St Patrick went up to Ballinacragga, which is on the side of Knockpatrick hill. There were no lights in any of the houses, so he knocked at the door of one of the houses. The door was not opened but a woman's coice from inside asked him who he was. He told her he was Patrick, and after a lot of argument She said She would let him in. She also told him not to look upon KnockPatrick hill because there was a witche's fire upon the hill, and whoever looked upon the fire would sneeze till he would die.
When she opened the door she herself looked upon the fire and she started to sneeze. St Patrick said, "God bless us, and the fire went out. She sneezed again and the fire lit. St patrick said, "God Almight bless us." For the third time the fire lit and she sneezed, and St Patrick said, "God Almighty bless and save us" and the fire went out for ever.
