    men walked from Ballybunion to Ballycasey in about twelve hours. Daniel Lyons of Bolane was a famous pole jumper, the height of the pole he jumped was twelve feet high and he is now in America.
    The famous dancers were Mrs. Fitzgerald and Johnny Barron. Mrs. Fitzgerald lived in Knock Ruad and Johnny Barron's father taught her the steps, such as reels, jigs, hornpipes and others.
    Johnny Barron travelled from townland, to townland and he stayed about three months in each place and he taught the people the steps in the barns. He afterwards went to America. Jack Butt was a good fiddle player. He was blind and he always played at the crossroad dances.
