About 60 years ago the people of this locality used to mix Indian meal with brown flour to make bread. This was considered to be very wholesome.
They used to make flour from wheat with querns and bake it on griddles.
The olden people thought it would not be lucky to bake a cake if they did not put a cross on it. For a fancy cake the people always put the print of a fork around it to decorate it. Others put some small holes on the top of the cake to let out four air.
