- (continued from previous page)the precise location but it is generally on either side of the road that leads from Tullovin Castle to Manister Abbey. the 25" sheet No 5 "of the 6" sheet No 31 will reveal the site as pointed out to me by Patrick FitzGerald High St. Croom aged 56 "carpenter-mason". According to him it is on the right-hand side of that road near and to the west of a large fort some 1-1/8" from the road - to the right of it. Quite recently this Patrick FitzGerald was building a house for Mr. Jerry Quain in the exact location referred to above and in sinking the foundations unearthed portions of two skeletons, the skulls being pretty well preserved. A Mrs. Quain, over 86 years old, who lives in this locality stated that she thought there was a burial ground there since the famine days. Unfortunately the poor woman ins bed-ridden and it would distress her too much, to get her to expand on the topic.
From the Abbey of Manisternenagh eastward to Greybridge - see 25" Ordnance sheets Nos. 2 and 6 of the 6" Sheet no. 31 Limerick to take in locality referred to ____ there is a corcass or watermeadow. In this corcass and in that portion belonging to Mr. Dd. Griffin, Clorane, Croom - 6" sheet No 6 - there is an outline, faint but obvious of a building(continues on next page)- Collector
