  1. There is a castle in Mount Blakeney and it belonged to the Blakeneys. there is only a small portion of the walls now standing. it was a big castle and it slength is about 24 feet by 22 wide. The Blakeney's intermarried with the Normans. they are buried in Kilmallock protestant churchyard. they field where the castle is built on is very hilly. there is a small little island near the castle.
