Kilmallock, our post town, two or three miles distant was a very popular town formerly. The remains of the wall which surrounded the town and some large houses are still to be seen.Edward VI granted a charter to Kilmallock which contained many priviliges.Elizabeth granted another April 24th 1584

impowers burgesses to lay(?) money to keep fortifications in repair to grant licences for making spiritous (?) liquors
grants a fair to continue for 5 days, but to commence Saty (?) before Whitsuntide.In the cathedral church of Kilmallock are the remains of a monument erected over the Verdon family.(continues on next page)
