    Of course this Lieutenant Samson was on the Irish side. Anyway he was buried inside the Church where he was killed and to this day the Samson family are buried inside the old church.
    The herd Lowe having settled down in Galbally now began to gather rags as his master Croft had run off to England to escape the vengeance of Massy. It appears that one Sunday Croft was attending service at the Church in Duntryleague and Massy and his followers came to do him in. One of Croft's followers gave him the tip and he slipped out before the service was over and made off to England.
    When Lowe used to go into the houses gathering rags and bones he used throw down his bag on the floor and strike the ground with his stick and shout "Gather up. Gather up".
