- About fifty years ago we had a workman called James Carroll who was born in Limerick City. He was known locally as Jimmy from Limerick. He went to the U.S.A. in 1879.
He was a great poet and was held in high esteem among the people for miles around.
On of his poems was:-The Vale of Gleann-na-gCreabhar.To praise the vale of Gleann-na-gCreabhar
I'll use my upmost skill
It's emerald fields and grand old woods
And gentle gliding rill
There's the seat of Lord John Massy
At the foot of Paradise
With its walks and well kept gardens(continues on next page)- Informant
