- Holy wells are very sacred and are very numerous throughout the country. St Johns well which is of special interest to the people of this parish is situated at the northern end of the town probably because our parish church derived its name from the holy well.
This well removed three times. This beautiful spring is the main source of water supply for the town of Hospital. There was a pump erected there which is now out of use. A water supply is now provided for the town by means of a tower which was built on the top of the hill of Hospital and which is called a reservoir. The waters of(continues on next page)- Collector
