- (continued from previous page)But the Hayes' defied him and showed him some play
And told him the rack-rents they never would pay
For the mud thats around Ballyloundash.
But some of those bailiffs being holy and wise
Imagine a Tuttle fell down from the skies
But he's only excelled by the Father of lies
For his treachery around Ballyloundash.
A mule he soon started - Dwyer gave a roar
That resembled the scream of a tricky old boar,
But the mule bounded off like renowned Galteemore
As he coursed all around Ballyloundash. III
He took them along by the swampiest plains,
Through hedges and ditches and quarries & drains.
But the gates were all opened in by-ways & lanes
By the fair maids of sweet Ballyloundash.
We knew he was game by the curve of his tail
And the mettle displayed by him never could fail
As over the green hills he gave them leg-bail
On the fair plains of dear Ballyloundash.
May the muscles that serve you my gallant young mule
Be elastic and supple those brutes to befool
When the Tuttles are banished & we'll have home rule
Our friends will have fair play in Ballyloundash.
