  1. When I was young one of the principal food we had was stirabout. This used be eaten up to 41 yrs ago. Water was feet in a pot and boiled. Then so many measures of course yellow meal were put in and salt was mixed with it. It would thicken and you'd keep stirring it. You'd have sour skim with it.
    Penny dinners
    When I was going to school in [?] Co Limk Penny Dinners were given to the scholars all you'd get was a penny loaf. This was paid for at the shop by whoever was responsible and the Scholars called for them.
