- Long ago there was a hurling match between Doon and Pallas. The Hurley's were made of a straight stick and a cows horn on the end for a turn! The ball was thrown in at the Old Bridge. The Ball had to be taken to Doon or to Pallas and the team that would take home the ball were the winners. Those hurlers were called (abhailes)There was no referee or no rules. It is said that Pallas brought home the ball to Pallas.
