- Potatoes are grown on my farm at home but not a very large amount because the land is not very large. The ground is manured before turned up. The potatoes are sown in drills. In the making of these, a spade is used but people who have a large amount of land use a plough. Before the potatoes are ready for setting they must be cut. When they are ready for use they they are put in the drills and are covered with the plough.
