    falls on the slab. This drop is said to be a sign of Gods anger for betraying his cousin James Fitzthomas the Sugan Earl for a thousand pounds. Others say he is buried in a large recess in the wall.
    There is said to be an underground passage from the Abbey to the old church which is situated on the opposite bank of the river. The Abbey was burned by Lord Inchiquin in the year 1654. Two priests named Fr. Fox and Fr. Fitzgerald were killed when it was burned.
