    he was going to the Confederation at Kilkenny in the year 1645.
    One side of the square tower is knocked. Some people say it was knocked by a flash of lightening and others say it was knocked by Cromwell and his army.
    The old entrance to the Abbey was from chapel-height.
    There was a bridge crossing the river. The remains of the pillars are still to be seen.
