    There are many ancient songs written about certain happenings in Ireland.

    And we raised the green flag of liberty.
    Another song about '98 is Innisfail
    Twas in the year of '98
    That time of blood and war
    When the Saxons reeled beneath the vengeful for
    When Britains troops before us blew
    Life chaff before the gale
    As they heard the dreaded war cry
    Of the sons of Innisfail.
    On June the sixth and 20th
    I've heard the old men say
    The battle of Kilconnery was fought and lost that day
    The rebels they were outed. They struck with right good will
    And many a pikeman wandered
    That night upon the hill.
