    by the name of Clark. It is said that he was a very hard landlord. About this time he gave notice to all the people that he was going to collect the rent and to be prepared to leave the house if they had not the money. There were three men by the name of Hawkins, Rice and Hayes, as tenants. The three men were friends since childhood. So these three resolved to kill Clark by hook or by crook. The time was now approaching when Clark was to collect the rent. But the men were also prepared. When Sunday came they hid themselves inside the hedge and waited till he came along but it was in vain. A man by the name of Malic Martin a father of the present Malic was going to Mass. As he passed he heard a rustle in the briars and he said to himself that it was only a rabbit in a snare. He said that would have a look when he would be coming home. He then went to mass came home the same way as that he went. When he came to the stile to get the
