Malach invested a crowbar under it, and tried to lift it, but all of a sudden, he fell down helpless, and Carthy was terrified by a strange sound, like the droning of bees.He had to assist Malachy back to his lodgings, where he got suddenly ill, and died in a few days.
This treasure is supposed to be a large urn of pure gold, in the tenth-century coins. Its present day value is estimated at £10,000. It is supposed to be guarded by a swarm of bees, which were placed there by the Danes, who were steeped in the witchcraft that was consistent with the heathenism of the Danish tribes at the time.- Collector
