- Basket Making
Basket's were made in every house in this District long ago. The people got the sally sticks in valleys and wet places. They placed the sticks close together and formed them into the shape of a basket.
Hampers and large basket's were made by sticking some strong sticks down in the ground in the form of a square, or oblong or what ever shape was required. Then the weaker sallies were woven in and out through those. When the basket was completed it was pulled up and the top was fastened off. The making of self?? baskets still prevails.
