- Fairy Forts
There is one fort on our farm, it is called a fort. One night John Doyle and another person were out dark fowling. The lamp that they had quenched as a result of sods being fired at them. Then the man that was with John Doyle was away. When he was gone John Doyle saw a great number of little men hurling in a field one side of the fort. They had about fifty balls and they never let one lodge, they used meet them coming out of the air. The man that ran away went to bed and never got out of it until he was buried.- Collector
