  1. Song (continued)

On the 20th April as the night it was fine, To go to John Quinn's Ball it was my desire...

    (continued from previous page)
To show the few steps that he learned at school.
    IV
Rodger Hannigan came there in a hell of a gag,
His hands in his pockets and he smoking a fag,
His collar was white and his tie made of silk,
Sure there must be great profit in selling sour milk.
    V
Maggie Cantwell came there and her hair hanging down,
For to dance and to waltz with the boys all around,
But the boys would not have her or neither would I,
So she had to go dance with a creamery boy.
    VI
Kit Brennan came there and her dress it was red
'Twas over in Yanky land I'm sure it was made,
There was lace in the front and the same behind,
'Twas tore off by that boy Michael Power had employed.
