- This is a very old building. It is made from yellow clay and limestone. It is about three hundred years old. There are only bits of the walls there now. Long ago this place was occupied by a fellow called Roper and Croker. He was up against Catholics.
A widow came complaining her son to him. He told her to bring the boy to him and she brought him to him and he him. The widow cursed him then.
This castle is in the towns land of Ballyboy West in the parish of Dunhill. It is situated by the river Tarr.- Informant
