Houses were more numerous in former days. There are four houses now in ruins. Gortaknockeare begins at the boundary of Cordangan and extends as far as the townland of Caarrowclough. Our land is bordering on the townland of Gortaknockeare and our family name is Kinane.

Gortaknockeare - The meaning of Ballyglass is "Baile-Ghlas" or "green town". There is one house in Upper Ballyglass and two houses in Lower Ballyglass. The name of the house in Upper Ballyglass is Miss May Mulcahy and two houses in Lower Ballyglass. The names of the houses are Mr Sadlier and Mr Morrissy(continues on next page)
