   However, the following day they went along towards Barna and they took their two best dogs with them. Pat went to the hill towards the house and Mick went down the hill to raise the hare and sure enough just below near the lios the hound bounded away from him and the hunt started. Straight against the hill the hare ran and finally he turned toward the hut. Pat saw the dog and the hare coming and his his hound. There was just quite near him when he let go his dog and away straight for the hut the hare made but just as the hare was escaping under the door the second dog stopped and snapped at the hare and caught it b the left hind leg bringing off some flesh and blood in the mouth. Then Mick and Pat came up and the dog was lying down quite still as if dead. They were up to the door and were so vexed they broke in and what did they see but the woman lying by the fire with blood gushing from her left leg. They ran out immediately and made home as fast as they could. That night the house was seen on fire and it's said that the old woman still rambles over the hill carrying a crutch but never speaks to anyone.
