- There are several customs which the people had in the olden times still preserved in this locality. It is a custom that whenever you look at an animal or a child you should say "God bless it." It is another custom that the people used to make their own butter and many people still do so. It is also customary that people hang up a piece of boiled meat on Shrove Tuesday as a "Thigeagera" and take it down on Easter Sunday. This is supposed to cure diseases in cattle.
