    grumble while John Maher is inside that rick of hay” I was about to jump down and run away when one of them called my name.
    Then I came down and out on the road. There were three men carrying a coffin, two in front and one behind. It seemed the one behind was overburdened and that was the cause of all the noise.
    “Come John” your help is sorely needed” says one of the men.
    So in I got under the coffin and away we started. At last we came to a graveyard.
    Here we stopped and hoisted the coffin over the wall, and after taking it in a good way ordered to bury it. One of them told me to go over to the end of the old ruined church that stood at the other side of the yard and there he would find a pick and shovel.
    The three men had disappeared when I came back. I began to dig away when I thought it was deep enough to cover the coffin I prepared to lower it. To my surprise the man in the coffin said “It must be deep enough now.
    The man in the coffin said “Now you will take off the lid until I have one look at you”
    I loosened the lid and lifted it up just enough to
