    In the year 1896 there was great drought which caused a great scarcity of water Even around Christmas there was a scarcity of water .I got this information from my uncle John Sullivan ,Rayhcrona, Kilmaley.

  2. Old Schools
    Long ago before the National Schools were built ,the pupils were taught in "hedge schools" or in little cabins or barns.There was an old school in Cahermore .It was a little thatched cabin on the side of the road leading to Mr Hehir's house and my grandfather was educated there .The teacher's name was Mr.Sullivanand he lived in the school .
