16 A "round" was not supposed to be complete in olden times unless the same acts of devotion at Loc Fergus mentioned above were performed. A person should also sit on a chair stone on the margin of the lake on which the saint used sit and rest. A special track across the lands of Gurteen between the well and lake is supposed to be the route taken by the saint. An eel is sometimes seen at the well. The appearance of the eel is supposed to be a sure sign that a person gets his request. A trout is also seen in the well. It is considered unlucky to meddle with those fish.
