    see no -one but he heard crying like that of a man going away up towards the mountain.He went to bed again but he did not sleep until morning.After a few days he got a letter telling him that his brother had died and it was the very night ,he died his brother heard the Banshee.
    There was a man living long ago and his name was Michael Hogan. He lived in Kilmore and he used to be always drunk .he was said to be very brave and he was often heard to say that he feared neither God nor man.Everybody in the locality were afraid of him .One night he was going to town to have a drink and he was in high spirits.He was not far from his own home when he heard the footsteps of a woman running after him.It was nearly dark and he was going fast.He thought it was his sister that was there.He told her to go home and not to be following him .She kept on after him and he was getting very vexed. He turned back to strike her but he turned back again quicker and ran for his life .he never drank again after that or went out by night.He never saw the banshee after that and he never forgot that awful evening .He said the woman had a big stick and if he did not run he would be killed.
