  1. Forts are also called Raths or Duns. There are eight or nine forts in Sandymount, one in Clunbuny, two in Fintra, one in Leguard neat Milltown Malbay, one in Breaffa North, two in Caraduff, two in Dough and one near Quilty. There are three of the forts in view of each other.
    A lot of people believe that the fairies live in the forts and on that account they are afraid to meddle with the walls.
