Twenty six years ago James Brown, Denis Kelly and Thomas Costelloe were walking on the strand and they saw a beam of timber coming in. They swam out and brought a rope with them and tied it to the beam of timber. The three of them were pulling it. A big wave came and knocked them off their hold and the rope got caught around Costelloe and drowned him. The other two struggled along until they came into the shore and all people inside took them home. They were all very sorry for the man that got drowned. The beam was 84 ft long. The ages of men were Thomas Costelloe, was 18 years and Denis Kelly(continues on next page)- Collector
