    is made the butter collects into little grains like hailstones. When the butter if found that way you turn the handle back and forth a few times and get it into a big lump. After that the tub for the buttermilk is placed under the churn. Then draw the stopper and let it into the tub at the same time holding a strainer under the milk so that if any butter escapes it will be found in the strainer.
    A bucket of water is then put into the churn to wash the butter the first time in it. Then it is taken out into a wooden vessel. The butter is taken out of the churn with the butter scoop It is washed secondly in the butter tub. It is then salted and put into rolls with the butter spades.
    The buttermilk is taken away for pigs and calves. Some people drink it. The people long ago used use the buttermilk for to prevent sun-burn.
    When people used have horses to sell they used rub the buttermilk to the skin of the animal to put a gloss in it
