  1. Many marriages take place during the Summer and on Shrove Tuesday.
    Saturdays and the month of May are thought unlucky for marriages to take place.
    There are no matches made in our district but long ago there used to be.
    There is money, land, given as dowry.
    After Mass on the morning of the wedding there is a feast held in the brides parents' house and a lot of people are invited to it. Then the married couple go on there honeymoon. When they come home there is a feast held in the house they are going to live in.
